Despite the ban on unethical production, the Netherlands still imports tens of thousands of kilos of foie gras every year. With Christmas approaching, a time when foie gras often finds its way onto the dinner table, Mutant set to work for Wakker Dier, a Dutch animal welfare organization. To break old traditions and ban foie gras from the Dutch mindset once and for all, Mutant created its own version of a classic Dutch cultural icon: the traditional board game Ganzenbord (Game of the Goose) was transformed into Ganzenleverbord (Game of the Goose Liver).
Ondanks het verbod op de onethische productie, importeert Nederland nog ieder jaar tienduizenden kilo’s foie gras. Met kerst in zicht, een periode waarin foie gras wel eens op tafel durft te verschijnen, ging Mutant aan de slag voor Wakker Dier, een Nederlandse dierenwelzijnsorganisatie. Om oude tradities te doorbreken en foie gras voor eens en altijd mentaal te bannen bij Nederlanders, maakte Mutant een eigen versie van een oer-Hollands cultuur icoon; Ganzenbord werd Ganzenleverbord.
